hey guys. purchasing my first reactor this weekend. my main concerns are nitrate and phos so i was wondering what a good media would be. i know there are tons out there. i was told chemi pure elite but after research i see some of it might make it through the reactor.

also i run 2bulb t5 lights on a 40 breeder. how long should i set a time. there no ramping or options so its either on or off.

I would stack the reactor with the chemi pure on the bottom separated with a sponge the GFO, giving enough room for the GFO to have move movement.

I use to run my lights 8 to 10 hours. I used two different appliance times to ramp my light up. First with the blue then the whites. If you do not have that option then start running the lights for about six hours then 8 hours and see how things look. If you wanted to go 10. this will get the system used to the lights over time.

gotcha thanks. yea i found out i was running the lights way too long. gonna start with a timer at 7 hours.

what kind of sponge can i use?
