I've heard of people using one reactor to run gfo and carbon in. I've been thinking about this lately so I thought I'd get you alls opinion. I have a phosban 550 reactor and am going to run blkreef gfo in it. I have a ton of room left so I thought maybe I can sandwich some carbon between two sponges after the gfo. I know the gfo has to bubble slightly and the carbon doesn't so that's the reason for the two sponges to hold the carbon still. I'd like to see what you guys and girls think. Thanks in advance.

I did that and it worked out fine, only issue I had was when I replaced my carbon it was a pain because my car on got changed every 2 weeks and the gfo was 3-4 months so I just bought brs dual reactor for simplicity but it will work stacking carbon on top as long as the gfo has room.

Thanks for he reply. The vid was something I haven't thougth about. I'm still undecided but I'll make a decision soon.

I prefer two reactors since GFO and carbon have different useful lives and different flow requirements. A dual reactor with individual ball valves is best so you can vary flows independently or take one out of service without affecting the other.
