Hi all. I have an Avast MR5 I plan on using for my Biocube 32 gallon. I will be running it with about an 8th of a cup of carbon. I know most reactors are within/next to the sump. I don't have a sump. I am hoping to have this set up to the 1st and 2nd chambers of my Biocube with the reactor itself underneath my tank.

My questions are:

Can i set this up underneath my tank? or will this need to be set up at tank height for proper return?

If setting up under the tank is possible, will I need a stronger pump to assist with the 3(ish) vertical feet the return will need to be?

I saw a few youtube videos where people had media reactors for the Biocubes but they were mounted at tank height. is this necessary or can an underneath tank setup be successful?

New to the hobby so I apologize if this question is weak. Thanks in advance.

Anything is possible, but is it really worth the trouble?

I used to run an InTank media basket in an ole Red Sea 130, and it got the job done.

Here's they're site and all the things, they got for an Bio 32.

That's the way I'd go, but... JMO

:)

I understand theres options the fit in unit but I went with this reactor for a number of reasons. Mainly so I can scale up in the future when space allows so I wanted a capable reactor that ranges beyond the biocube.
