Reactor with....filter media?

Hi all,

Stupid question but.. Has anybody ever ran a reactor with filter floss or that blue filter media padding? I have a Torq (total piece of trash design by the way).. and Ive thought about filling it with filter floss and letting it run in the sump. Would probably help polish up the water some..

Any thoughts?

Don't see why you couldn't. You wouldn't want to use carbon in it?

Not on the Torq. The design is total garbage. The top pops off. Ive had GFO all over my sump before because of it.

Sounds like a canister filter with extra steps

or a canister with less parts to mess with. I have it laying around. Want to put it to good use. It's not good for granular media.
