Hey Guys,

Got a new idea for our upcoming live sale (Sunday 2/9!). We want to run it by you guys first and see what you guys think!!!

Throughout these sales we have ran, people have often dropped out towards the end because of how late it runs. What if we list up all 500+ items in a facebook folder at once (like this link: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.703977196300232.1073742058.109066162458008&type=1), with titles, numbers and pricing (just like we post here on R2R) set in the description. Then everyone can look at it all at once and pick out what they want. Will be the same deal, first to email can reserve. Not sold until payment is received through paypal or by CC over the phone. We will set up a time where we will list it all at once so that people can be prepared.

So instead of us posting 10 pieces every 3 - 7 minutes and running it till past midnight for east coast people, you guys can essentially see all of the pieces and make your picks right away. Then we will send out the usual breakdowns the following day once people made their selections.

What does everyone think? Or would you guys rather do the traditional live sale where we post items up on the forums, 10 pieces at a time?

hhhmm. tough to say. and you will be answering an insane amount of emails and such. perhaps there is a compromise in between?? maybe posting 50-100 at a time, here like a traditional live sale, but with more pieces per posting. Also, many people do not use the FB, so will you be posting only on FB or elsewhere? just a few thoughts on the subject. great of you to be thinking outside the box and seeking input!

I will not use facebook. I also think it takes the excitement away doing it all at once.

I enjoy the current way of doing things. Maybe to speed things up you could just increase the amount of corals in each post? Or do two posts back to back? I know a lot of people out there don't have FB nor do they want involved with it.. One folder on FB to me seems like it's not a true live sale. More or less no different then just uploading them all to your site and saying boom there uploaded!

I like the Livesales where items are posted on R2R, and then you can click on the picture which take you to the vendors website to purchase. Much easier to deal with vs sending e-mails and waiting for responses as to whether or not you won the item.

I love this idea. Being on the east coast makes it tough. On top of that I have to be up at 4 am so needless to say I don't get much sleep. I think also it would be easier to budget yourself. So if there is an awesome piece you really want you can get instead of the 20 cheaper pieces you already bought but regret!

Thanks for the post! That is true, I can list it all on the forum at once, then go back and answer all the emails afterwards? Or as you said, list it in bulk every hour. Great ideas! Thank you!

I dont like the facebook idea but I like the idea of posting everything at once. A big free for all. It would be very exciting and save everyone a bunch of time.

Maybe a mix of the two ideas would work. Post all the corals that will be available during the live sale on a separate thread the day before, that way people can see if there are any pieces they would like to buy. This would also allow people to know if the piece they want has come and gone or they should stay tuned. Then have a live sale thread where you post 20 to 50 corals at a time with prices and names the traditional way. I know some people like the suspense of not knowing what is going to be available, but I am sure others would like to know what will be offered before tuning in.

What about posting a link to a photobucket library (or wherever you stage your photos) with description/price in the title for each photo.
Maybe separate libraries of say 25 pieces each to keep some of the feel of a typical live sale free for all.

I love the format now however if I changed anything do like 25 at a time. I understand the need to accomadate everyone but sometimes you just cannot. Will advertises these sales way far in advance and if you really want to make the sale you should plan accordingly.

I prefer the way you've been listing them. Having one huge folder wouldn't be any different that a website update other than the reduced prices. Takes away from the interactions that occur in live sales and all the friendly talking and waiting to snipe your pieces!

I do think that larger amounts of items would be a good idea! Maybe like 50 every 10 minutes? Then it would be done in an hour and half!
