Reading Hannah nitrate checker

I recently started using the new Hannah Nitrate checker. It reads in ppb

does that mean a reading of 13 ppb is .013 ppm?

I dont believe the salt one is in stock yet? But yes 13ppb equals 0.013ppm

EDIT: Also the new Nitrate checker reads in ppm, do you have the right instrument?

Yeah... so... no it is not. I bought a Nitrite checker! Lol

That moment of realization came with quite a few curse words! Lol

But then... my Nitrites are only .013 ppm. Any other test I would have assumed zero. Can’t I at least take that as in indication that Notrates are low? I mean, there are very few Nitrites to turn into Nitrates... right?

I dunno... yeah, I’m reaching lol

No, every cycled tank should be 0 ammonia and nitrite , nitrate could be anything, no relation

While I agree with this in theory... .013 ppm is close enough to zero that it could be considered zero. Any “color” change test out there would be read as zero... right?

I am happy to agree with you on “anything could be Nitrates” I don’t understand water chemistry very well. So... I use gadgets to measure it : )
