I'm running a pair of radions with difusers and I feel like my lights aren't strong enough. Image one represent my par readings with the difusers running my lights at 95% while the second picture is without the difusers at 95% . I've been reading a lot about how beneficial they are, but feel like the par intensity isn't enough for the purpose of coloring up my tenuis corals (they sit at the top of the middle structure). I can't lower the lights, would you guys recommend with or without the diffusers?

Ever since I learned that the diffusers sacrifice around 20% PAR, I have been gradually removing them. I like how the diffusers calm down the shimmer but not enough reduce growth.

I have xr30 g4 pros and I was a proponent of no diffuser. But it seemed like the lights had these individual hotspots (almost like a magnifying glass on the corals). I went almost 2 years like this and had very little success with coral coloration and grow out. Seeing how hard diffusers were to find these days for the g4s, I copied their design and printed a set for my xr30s.

My tank is comprised of mostly high end tenuis and since adding the diffusers the corals are really responding to the better blended light. And colors are looking much better as well.

I've been converted into a believer.

What are you using as a diffuser?
