Ready to go mixing water stations????

Just a thought but would it be nice to buy ready to go mixing water stations already pre built just plug and connect to your r.o. or options of getting one with r.o and with pumps to aerate the water and different size options? Would be nice one of these private custom companies would do something like that.

A "Turn Valve" instead of "Turn Key" system - it could work if a few configurations were offered. Everyone's space & application is somewhat different.

I dont use RO. I use straight city tap water with a cup exactly measured and a 5g bucket dont bother airating or mixing for hours with a pump.. Dont have time nire room for a 50 gallon trash can in my bedroom to premix water lol.

With 70+ diff corals half are sps i havent had issues. I think RODI and premixing is overrated

When I first started in the hobby the LFS said that tap water treated with Prime was fine. Our local tap water is quite good, but not actually good enough. After getting a new diatom bloom after every water change I finally started buying filtered water and then eventually got my own RODI system. World of difference.

Nope not kidding you. I live in Northern Virginia. Its extremely populated here. More people then most states. We get our water from the occoquan river a reservoirs. Even up in parts of MD the water quality is the same as its all from the chesapeake or occoquan river for major parts of nova

Never had issues with the water. In fact i can go on the water companies website and pull up the exact readings in the water down to the metals. Chemicals and other junk. Dont have any algae issues what so ever.. and if i do my fish or cuc handles it

Seriously! I'm in south Florida. You can smell the chlorine when you shower or run the faucet. I had a 4 stage value ro/di from BRS. It had a 5 micron sediment, 5 micron carbon dual 75 GPD membranes and 1 DI canister. I just rebuilt the entire system. I have an inline sediment strainer. 2 sediment filters. 1 5 micron carbon block, 2 1 micron carbon blocks. A new booster pump, auto shut off, auto flush and 3 DI stages now. Did this upgrade about a month ago. I'm already seeing a difference in the health of the tank.

I can smell the chloramines in our city water too..It litterally does nothing to my corals. Ive done 60% water changes on my 135g and just tossed prime in with my 5 g buckets i mix and noticed nothing being effected.

Youre overly paranoid.. we have chloramines in our water too. I smell it.. 60%+ water changes have been done in my 30g 60g and 135 reef tanks.. Litterally doesnt do anything to my corals.. i just dose prome and thats it. I mean i cant help it if it works for me. No need to bash me over it !!

I could show you countless pics of my LPS and sps growth over months n months but i wont bother because in the end. Youll still bash me.. LOL

There must be stuff in my water here that you don't have up there. When I first started in the hobby back in 2002 ish. I had a 55g. I used the tap and prime method and killed everything in my tank all the time. I was like in the heck am I doing wrong? Couple of the stores I went to in the beginning weren't very helpful. I started researching, got an RO/DI system and upgraded to a 150g tall tank. That's when I started having success. I will never use tap again!

Did you check your local water companies read outs. By law they are suppose to make it public. Mine are all below or at EPA regulations as far as heavy metals and words i cant even pronounce

i started with tap water and had very successful reef tanks but that was a long time ago rather then worrying about whats in tap water now i just use rodi

I never bothered. I just switched to an RO/DI and that's what worked for me. So that's what I've stuck with.

Aparently i have 12 contaminants in my water.. but it doesnt do anything to my fish so i dunno lol. I do use activated carbon sometimes.. according to this site pretty much all these unpronouncable names can be filtered out with it
