I let majano anemones take over my tank I am sure I have 1000 or so. To battle this I took each rock out and bleached them in stages to kill them off and to keep my bacteria. I also had what I thought to be GHA so due to this I was using GFO and Phosphate RX without testing. I now realize it was a mistake and I am sure it bottomed out my po4 which lead to what I think is dino. It was a think mat of slime. I got the mat under control with a black out and hydrogen peroxide. All the time what I thought was GHA was not affected.
Since I bleached my rocks I am totally expecting a diatom bloom but an scared is still dino sticking around. I have been intentionally trying to dirty my water. I have no phosphate test and the api test for nitrate reads 0. Doing some more research I think what I thought was GHA is Byropsis.
I need some id help and a plan of attack. I have been tempted to remove coral and fish and start the tank over. I really don’t want to but will. I also haven’t tried fluconazole.
Looking for ID diatoms or dino and GHA or byropsis and advice to rid myself of the problem.
