ok reefer recently i need to purchase more reagents for my checker
model HI782checkerHC

replacement reagent
HI782-0

my nitrate levels have been super high after change thinking i may of gotten wrong reagent
crossed checked level with api test with net zero nitrate so.... what the deal here?

In my experience the hanna regeants cant be trusted. Not sure i would trust API necessarily either. Do you have any LFS nearby to have third option?

i do just thinking i may have gotten the wrong reagent for checker nitrates are not scary off
20s but i was consistently around 10 and have not changed anything recently hoping someone knew the exact reagent for my model

they make hi782-25 reagent thinking that what i should of got verse the hi782-0 but it not totally clear
I think the -XX just indicates packaging config. HI782-25 is a roll of 25 reagent packets with perforations between each packet so you can seperate them. HI782-0 has individually cut reagent packets.

Should be the same reagent. There is a difference between reagent lots but 10 ppm seems a bit much. In my experience anyway. This checker is pretty new tho and I've only used a couple different reagent lots. They matched within a few ppm.

Its the same thing. I believe the -25 is reference to how many in box. Here are mine for example. Box is hi782-25. Packet says hi782-0

ok good so that confirms i do indeed have the correct reagent ok i will retest again see how it goes maybe my nitrates are up a bit just thought it was unusual for the api test to give me a result of zero on 20+ ppm hanna test

It is easy for nitrates to climb 10 ppm.

You are going to go around and around testing one test kit against another test kit. You need a reference standard to test the test kit.

API needs to be shaken like a mother to work properly, very easy to not do right, you should be verifying with salifert, IMO it’s just as accurate as Hanna but faster and easier!

Also where are y’all getting reagents?
