Real minimum tank size for mystery wrasse?

So I keep seeing mixed recommendations for tank size. I see Liveaquaria recommend a 90 gallon but then I see blue zoo aquatics recommend a 30 gallon. Any owners willing to share in what size tank they keep theirs?

The important question is will it be the only fish or are you planning to add one to a community? If it's on its own you can get away with a much smaller tank but because they can be so aggressive, if you wish to mix it with anything, the tank really needs to be a decent size.

Lets say I have a 34 gallon, I have a black snowflake clown and I want to add a mystery wrasse and a cherub angelfish. Those would be the only fish in the tank.

I personally thing most wrasses need more space. They love to hunt around. Could you do it? probably as they do not get really large for a wrasse. If you have tons of rock and holes and such. They love to go around the rock and hunt. Maybe consider a smaller one, opossum wrasse or similar. Just a thought.

Yes my aquascape has a lot of caves and a good amount of rock. I was thinking a McCoskers wrasse but its the same problem when it states tank sizes. Plus I love the way the mystery wrasse look.

They are very pretty. They just need lots of hunting room. I loved watching mine hunt. I would think a McCoskers would be a good fit.

The mystery wrasse will kill the McCosker once the mystery gets his territory, which will be the whole tank! as said they get very mean!!!

Yep, bigger they get the meaner they get with other wrasses.

I will say this a 90 is not even large enough when a mystery wrasse is full size. They get nasty! It will be his tank.

Yeah I did some research and its seems that he will end up taking the whole tank so I will stick to a McCoskers wrasse
