Really dumb question about sitting up my protein skimmer.

My SCA-302 skimmer arrived today. The instructions are awful but I think I've assembled properly. I have 2 questions though:

1. Right now it is just overflowing white bubbles, I'm assuming this is just due to the break in period?

2. There is a tube in the bottom of the collection cup, it had a stopper in the end of it. Do I just hang that tube in the sump and remove the stopper? I attached a picture for reference.

Probably dumb questions but this my first protein skimmer.

tube is for drain. it needs to go into a drain or collection, stuff coming out of that tube does not need to go into your sump or system.
Yes there is a time for protein skimmer to break in.

If I intend to empty the cup often and I have no room for drain, can I leave the stopper on and let it hang?

you can do it that way but its not broken in yet, the neck might start overflowing.

Yeah, the cup is overflowing unless I turn the skimmer to 2 or 3 and then the cup doesn't overflow but the blue tube that you adjust the skimmer with overflows. I'm thinking it's because of the break in period.

you can leave it at a setting where it does drain and overflow and then the drain tube drip back into sump for now till skimmer gets broken in.

What trigger sump are you using. And Do you have enough room to replace the filter socks.
