Spray furniture polish on it.. leave it an hour is so. Something in the polish melts the glue. I use it for all sorts of sticky stuff. Leave it on and then wipe off with a damp cloth an hour later. Might need two or three goesJust picked up a used 80g tank got it back home and tried to remove the brown paper sheet that was underneath guessing it was left on from shipping, upon trying to remove the piper I have found that the neoprene mat that was underneath has fuses to my glass along the corners and edges cause bumps in some places I've tried to remove it but not having much luck, what should I do ? Leave it be and buy a new mat or try my best to get it off? Its sort of fused itself into the seems aswell which is why I don't really want to take a razor blade to it feel gutted tbh and could really do with some advice, thanks in advance.

Hello all, thankyou for all your great advice its much appreciated, I managed to cut some away with a stanley but not much the bumps aren't too bad I think I'm just going to buy a nice thick matt to compensate, surely if it is only rubber/silicone it will just compress anyway? I've been looking at neoprene or closed cell foam neoprene is very expensive and for the thickness I would want is going to run me about £50 has anybody heard of or used polyethylene seems very similar to neoprene so its a choice out of the three photos I've uploaded, thanks in advance.
I agree , ts definitely stressing me out, the more I think about it the more confusing it is how would the mat fuse to the glass through the paper and if it isn't the mat then what is it? Silicone? The bumps really aren't that bad there's one on the right corner that concerns me which I will be trying my best to scrape off. Ive just ordered a new 10mm neoprene matt any thicker and it would of been about £65 thanks for the advice its much appreciatedWelcome to R2R! If the tank is level and not rocking or showing any gaps along the base, you might be okay adding another mat -- I'd be worried about one of the remaining bumps causing stress at that part of the tank when you add the water.
