Sure its smart. You can still have a hellofa tank with HOB and no sump. You'll just have to keep up on the water parameters more than some. No worries there. You can always go with a HOB fuge also. The HOB skimmers are pretty darn good, a lot better than they used to be.

cool i will see what i can do if i can rig something up i will if not ill go old school i guess, not huge on all the stuff hanging off the back to see, if i do ill just cover up the back of tank with a straight blue, white, or black background 2 hide as much as possible always hade them on my freshwaters, i could notch out the back of stand but dont know if that will mess with integraty of stand
