i have a fairly young reefer 170. Radion xr30 pro running an+ @ 54% on left hand slider. Two fishies stax. Par from 180-350, although top 2/3 are easily 200-250 very quickly. Shooting for a mostly sps tank. Current stock Bali slimer, red plantet, booms gold milli up top around 300 plus . Everything else is doing wayyyy better very low on tank. RR Aussie gold, Ora paradise, shortcake, rr avenger, cc miami humilis, purple rim monti..... the slimmer and red planet are growing. Just seems like lower overall par in tank may be my only options. It seems harder to find Acro and sps that truly do better in super high par (3-4 hundo). Parameters are sal 35, ca 400, alk 8, nitrates 40, zero phos, mp10 moving water. Dose two part , Acro power and reef roids. I know this is all trial and error but I think I may continue to lower intensity. Any experiences or opinions out there? Thanks in advance.

Not a bad idea overall, but looking at your parameters as a whole, one thing jumped out at me. The Nitrate/Phosphate ratio. Generally SPS like a little of both. Having 40ppm Nitrate and zero phosphate can contribute to less than stellar color and growth.
I would look to raise the phosphate to somewhere between .03 and .05 (possibly a bit higher with 40ppm nitrate)
As someone who has been running Radions for years over my SPS, I can say there are several corals out there that like to be blasted with light. Some however, don't... I ran 85% intensity for several years with Coral growing out the top of the tank. As an experiment, I dropped the intensity to about 78% and did see some better colors on some of the corals...

Not to be a stickler but the intensity settings effect each tank individually depending on how many modules are used and how high they are hung and spread apart. I wanted to point that out because it causes a lot of confusion.
@donomite are you running the diffusers? That might soften some of the most dynamic peaks of light by reducing caustics. You will loose a little bit of PAR with them, but not much. I think I measured around 7% or something similar and acceptable.

2 pucks on the xr30's. The spread was checked with PAR meter to gauge where spread acts on the tank. Im sitting around 55% on slider - if I could get ecosmart live to actually load I could tell exactly where Im at.
