seeI wouldn't with that chip. If you mean adding sealant over the chip, that'll only be for aesthetics but won't help it structurally. I can't tell if it's on one pane of glass, but if it is there is always the option to swap that pane out for a new pane and redo the seals and seams.
Kinda agree, looks like "clam" chip ,but think I see runs , sorry...
Not worth the risk IMO. Maybe it would be OK, but the lost sleep knowing it could fail would drive me insane. Not to mention the fact that you know about the defect and just made it public, which will make a homeowner’s claim for flood damage near impossible…
All that said, I’m not a glass expert and I don’t know what your sunk cost is in that aquarium. Maybe others will have a different perspective. You have my two cents![]()
I wouldn’t![]()
Looks like a larger tank ,but chip is in overflow box corner ,waiting on OP with size of tankIs that a AIO tank is that chip on the back sump ? If yes I would silicone it and run it. Anywhere else no way.
91 corner, it’s on the corner
It’s on corner by overflowIs that a AIO tank is that chip on the back sump ? If yes I would silicone it and run it. Anywhere else no way.
Like just lay it over it? How do I stick it together?Add some glass to reenforce that area. Top to bottom, 2" wide to cover the whole corner.
RTV, like they build the rest of the tank.Like just lay it over it? How do I stick it together?

What ifHere's how I look at it: Regardless of the risk of potential fish and coral loss, fill a 5-gallon bucket of water and dump it in the middle of whatever room you're keeping that tank. Then, clean it all up to where you're happy. Now, multiply that mess by 18x and that is what you'd deal with if that tank gave out. I can tell you for certain I would never enjoy that tank because I would be way too worried about it giving out.
You basically mean so water won't reach there and that area stay dry?RTV, like they build the rest of the tank.
RTV the sides and bottom lay it in, smooth out what you can, let it dry. Should give strength in that corner.
I'm not a tank builder so get some more feed back. Just a thought.
Like this, blue is the overflow, red is the new glass. Not set in the corner, but off of it.
Edit: not sure where the drilled holes are tho.
