Alex

Still looking great.
Lovely choice of fish. Never got lucky with chromis but your approach seems to be right.

Would you mind to share a little more on your equipment and sump?

Very nice Alex! Loving the height variation of the rock scape.

Thanks!
I think that the height variation creates a lot of movement in the layout.
Plus, it allows me to put corals in diferent heights, according to their need of light.

My sump/equipment didn't change. My skimmer and my Ca reactor are both great pieces (SRO5000 INT and SRO CR5000 Dual Chamber).
I still have 2 150 TFL reactors running empty. From time to time I put a little GAC and remove it after a week.
The chaetos was removed almost entirelly. I left a small portion in the frag tank....just in case.
Equipments

My sump still looks like this:

Sump

From the start I've changed my Lighting and now I run 5 AI (3HYDRAS52+2VEGAS) over the Big Island and 3 AI(2VEGAS+1HYDRA52) over the Small Island.
I also improved my circulation and now I run 2 Gyres 250 + 2 Icecaps 3k, along my MP40.

Thanks!

So by now that tank is running entirely on his own?
Just the skimmer to pull out floating materials and bacteria in the rocks and sand to do the rest and keep nutrients under control.
Based on what do you use GAC?

Pretty much it......
Based on nothing specifically...I just think that is healthy for the tank the sporadically use.

About the Green Chromis.....
After put the group with 13 fishes in the display tank, 2 weeks ago, I lose 3 of them.
1 of the big ones, of my previous group and 2 of the medium ones, died too.
Now they are 2 big, 1 medium and 10 small ones.
Untill now the results are not encouraging at all.
A "plus": one of the big ones now is chasing the small ones when I got close to the tank, thinking that I'm going to feed them.....

:(:(:(

My female squamipinis died overnight.
It was the first anthias that get in to the tank, almost a year and a half ago.

Another specie that I must give up.
:(

The bright side: The trigger is very active, it's eating a lot...I mean, a loooooooooottttttt .He's a peacefull fish and, untill now, didn't pay no attention to corals, clams, and etc.
Due to that, I've cut down the amino dosing to the half.
The balance of the tank has changed a lot and my sps are really deeper in color as my lps and soft are much more inflated.
:)

And that's it.
Sometimes we win.....and sometimes we don't.
