Decided to start my 25 lagoon up again after a year off. I’m using all my old equipment for now but am going to upgrade a few items. Going to get the cobalt flat heater with an inkbird controller. I’m also going to splurge for a dosing pump as well as automating my rodi in conjunction with my ato. If anyone is wanting to see the progression I will be posting day one photos along with water parameters. I will also keep posting as it comes along.

Looks good! I would be weary of setting up an ro unit for ato. Endless supply of water being controlled by an electric valve and a float valve just sounds like a new floor to me. I suppose setup redundancy and I wish you the best!

The reservoir will be in the basement on concrete next to a floor drain. The rodi will go into a 55 gal trash can. I’m just trying to figure out what ato to use that would reach from the holding tank to the display…it’s about 50ft . I can’t find an ato that has a long enough cord.

I think I’m just going to buy a power extender to run to the pump in the basement tank. Hope it works my pump has a max head of 10ft

Is it .5 or .05, with no fish and heavy feeding I wouldn’t think it would be at .5?

I’m using salifert test kit and when I match to the card it’s definitely .5…idk i don’t have an algae outbreak just some minor brown. I can test again tomorrow and take pics.

Are you feeding the tank? If so what?
Nope not at all…all I did was set the tank up got premixed water from the lfs and away we went…just added 2 coral..a zoa frag and gsp both have grown…zoas have doubled in heads and gsp has also doubled.. idk maybe I should just not worry too much about it and see what happens.

If everything is happy wait and see but I would check the water you are purchasing and see if it is high in phosphate.
I only bought it once and have been using rodi water from my system… just changed all the filters a month ago. I guess I could check the water i have left over and my rodi. Maybe I should get a Hanna for my phosphate

You never know, it’s worth checking. High phosphate in your system just isn’t making sense.

So the saltwater from lfs is 0 rodi water is 0 and looks like I’m down to .25 with 24hrs of gfo
Maybe get a second opinion, take it to a good lfs and have them test it to compare. There can be a lot of human error, I’ve been guilty myself.
