Rebuilding my 55 gallon tank after an accident. On Tuesday my 4 year old came and told me he "fed the fish" and dropped the container into the aquarium. We took the container out and scooped out food. I had a lot of running to do during the day and planned on a water change after I got back. When I got home and went to start the water change I had a lot of dead fish floating around. When I took the glass of the top if my tank I found a pack of silica that had been in the fish food container. It has sucked to the powerhead and poisoned the aquarium. I did have two fish that looked close to death
But not quite and I moved them into a nurse tank expecting them to die, but so far they are alive and well. So I have a clownfish and a cardinal bangai. I'm most devastated by the loss of my green mandarin. So today is the first day of the rebuild. Chose a new aquascape and layout. Now just getting ready for the long wait!
