My SC Aquariums 150 will be shipped soon. It’s coming from SoCal to Alaska via Saia Freight shipping.

For those who have received a shipped aquarium, did you open it all right there with the driver present and inspect? Has anyone gotten a damaged aquarium?

Thanks for any and all advice!

My 90 gallon long is from SC Aquariums and they shipped using saia as well. You probably could open it and check for damage if you wanted to. I didn't but it wouldn't be a bad idea to do so. SCA did a really good packing it so I would worry too much.

I bought mine from SCA as well. I opened the box and inspected everything before I accepted the shipment.

If you accept the shipment without inspecting, any damages is on you as you already absolved the shipping company of damages.

i don't care if the drivers says he can't wait, is in a hurry, he doesn't have to wait, etc, etc, by no means sign for the shipment without inspecting the package first!

This is what it looked like shipped.

I will say, SCA is used to shipping these things, so they are well packed.

There are a couple threads around here where people did sign for the shipment, then later on discovered damages. Guess what? Those people all ended up being SOL.

I had my Res Sea Reefer shipped and it was a hassle only because it wasn't something normally one deals with. The tanks are going to be packed well. I had to go meet my driver a mile from my house because they were trying to deliver it with a semi and those type of trucks aren't allowed in my area. Had to unpack everything just to fit as much as I could into my small SUV. Didn't get to inspect much because it felt like such a rush. Not just because of the driver, but because I just got my tank!!! Everything felt like a dream. Felt like I was in that show Tanked. Enjoy and stop worrying, you have spent a lot of money to get to this point try to just enjoy.

I received my Innovative Marine 75 g and the driver even helped open the crate. I thought I inspected it thoroughly but discovered the back panel was cracked. It was not apparent because of the black plexiglass. IM was awesome when I contacted them and shipped me another one. Be sure to take a flashlight and shine it along the edges. It will show any cracks or flaws. The second driver was very patient. Huge shout out to Innovative Marine. They were very helpful and the tank is awesome
