Receiving corals tomorrow, confused on dipping/acclimation procedures.

I am receiving some corals tomorrow from an online vendor. I want to dip the corals and then put them into my frag tank. I keep my tank at 1.025 and 78 degrees.

First off, when I get them, do I immediately dip them? Do I heat the water I dip them in and temperature acclimate them? Also, what salinity should this water be? I would assume same salinity as the water I receive them in?

Afterward, do I put them in some fresh water at the salinity they were shipped in and slowly acclimate the salinity to my water?

Seems the process I am describing could shock the corals a decent amount and also seems a bit confusing!

Any help would be appreciated.

Congrats on the new corals. Can you describe the types of corals you will be receiving? Some corals require different acclimation procedures than others.

Most of them are acans, mushrooms, a few sps, and a 4 pack mystery box it was from the wwc live sale

What type of corals? Some people float the corals to get them up to temp then dip the corals and others may just dip and toss them in.
Personally I float the corals for about 20-30min. Then I take half the water that they came in and half tank water from my QT tank so roughly equal amounts. Add preferred dip solution and corals. Inspect, scrub frag plugs/remove frag plugs, and I use a power head or baster to blow off any hitchhikers. Do this for roughly 10-15min. I prefer Bayer and Coral RX pro. I use revive occasionally but it has always seemed bit harsh. Depending on more sensitive corals I take different approach such as drip acclimating and certain dips.

Revive works but as I said previously be cautious. Don't know if its me but I haven't had the best luck with revive. I've seen SPS tissue immediately slough off in a matter of a couple of minutes and with LPS I haven't had too many issues. I do use the recommended dose to SW ratio also. As a good practice you should always dip and QT your corals. With the corals coming from WWC you should be in pretty good shape. I've never had any issues from WWC corals I've purchased in the past.
