Just need to put this out there for other people considering ordering from LA.
Have easily ordered ten thousand dollars in livestock from LA over then past 7-8 years ($5k since Sept. 2017 according to recent orders); however, over the past year or so I have to agree, the quality from LA has significantly decreased, more fish have ended up shipped with parasites than I have ever seen, or have just been DOA. Coral purchased out of their ORA section tend to have no coloration other than brown, indicating poor water or lighting wherever those coral are kept.
Their customer service has been largely accommodating for DOA or DAA (dead after arrival) issues and sending photos is a part of their written policy. Though on my past order (placed on a Saturday) I made a two mistakes 1. wanting to add to my order (which was already at $300), 2. accidentally using my reward points ($80 of which was from the last DOA i ordered from them), neither of which could be fixed as the option to cancel an online order yourself is non-existent and by 9:50 am CST Monday when I was able to speak to a person, they were unable or unwilling to do anything to address my order. Their answer was that I should have sent an email to their email address and hope that a person read it Monday.
The idea that you cannot hold an order, add to it, or even change the billing method before any fish are put into boxes is asinine. The recent run of dead or sick fish, dead snails, poorly colored coral, and difficult to work with software/customer service will likely lead to my spending money elsewhere. But just my two cents.
