recirculating skimmer air

i've been using co2 scrubber media for a while now and i've been thinking, instead of a full recirculating system where the scrubber air goes back into the c02 media, couldn't i just have that air go straight back into the skimmer? My skimmer has 2 air inlets. So 1 inlet would have recirculating air and the other inlet would have fresh air coming from the c02 media.

LifeReef skimmers have had an air recirculation option for years. I ‘borrowed’ the idea for my skimmer.
