There's lots of info online about anemones especially btas but it's all the same info.
I had a couple of nems in the past, malu and rock flower but I got my first bta 2 days ago.
I'm fascinated by it and I'm watching it all the time.
I'm wondering about some info from experienced bta keepers here, can you look at an anemone and say with confidence "she has too much or not enough light/flow/ph etc"?

I took a few pics of different shapes my new bta has made these past few days, what do you think? To me it looks great and healthy but I'm very new to this type of animal.

With the bubbles bigger at the top it looks like it's reaching for the light. But does that mean there's not enough, or she just likes it?

Before the lights came on she looks like she's reaching to the light coming through the window, I just opened the curtains. No bubbles.

If there is one thing I've learned from keeping clowns with RBTA'S they will move where they want to be. If they aren't happy they will move to where they are.

I have 2 clowns in the tank but they don't seem interested in it at all, actually the smaller one has spent the whole day in the top corner but I don't know if it's related to the new addition.
I wasn't sure how to put the anemone in but I just put it on a rock at the bottom and within 10 minutes it was on the move. It went up and then behind the rocks for the night, but yesterday morning it came out and is in full view right in the middle of my tank so I'll be very happy if she stays there :)

Looks like your anemone is feeling well! There have been a lot of rumours about the inflated bubbles.

It has never been proven why exactly they have these bubbles or not. As long as the color stays nice and the anemone is not moving around and does not look deflated (Tentacles look like spaghettis), the BTA is fine.

Also, as it is your first experience. Don’t panic if it suddenly looks bad for a day... Mine looks like they are dying one day after feeding. It’s a bit like leather corals shedding. They close up for no reason and come back bigger and better.

Enjoy!

Okay thanks for the advice :)
So far so good!
