Hi all hope all is well

I'm wanting some mushrooms in my tank and wondering if could get some names of mushrooms that less likely to become invasive.
I read alot on r2r of people saying they trying to eradicate a certain mushroom and mushroom winning the battle lol..
I'm new to saltwater at 9 months and all corals ( about 14 kinds of zoas, palys, green slimer, stylo, lobo and have had 3 torches but only last few months ,so going stay away from torches a bit)
So on this basis and till my experience grows looming after corals want the cheaper easier corals to keep so wont be getting a £ 500 +bounce mushroom ha ha

Thanks in advance and hope you having a great day.

This thread isnt for you to do all the work and I just buy a mushroom,I will research and research some more after get some recomendations on what to get and stay away from the very fast growing mushrooms that come invasive ^_^

Cheap non invasive look at ricordea florida mushrooms.
Lots of color options too :)

Cheers!
Ok great will start looking up on them tyvm ^_^

Here's an orange one which looks nice and cheap enough compared to some of the pricier ones .

So what mushrooms to stay away from ?
Incase see at lfs and I ask what kind it is and they actually know the name of it ^_^

I would stay away from solid blue or red discosoma if youre keen on ever keeping any encrusting LPS or SPS.
They take over quick, hard to kill and they will kill anything they touch.

Also, stay away from rhodactis if you dont want them splitting and spreading often.

Ok great noted.
Thanks for advice ^_^

If you have the option put them on their own rock/island . To my knowledge they will be isolated there and not spread via the sand or water column

Mushrooms will float and colonize where ever they are happy like any anemone :(
OH OH ......... that could be trouble. Mine is multiplying like a rabbit but so far staying on the same rock ill keep an eye on this and see if mine are jumpers like you suggest

I think they are cool

actually the OG bounce is very non invasive, you couldn't get it to split if you want it to. And most people would want it to split, have to resort to cutting.
Agreed tho mine did split like 3 times when i first got it lol.
It didnt split or move in the longest time after.

mine is the size of my palm and still has not split once for me. Tempted to get the razor blade.

If i were to do it all over again, id use the more natural pedal lasceration technique to cut.
@LRT has documented this sucessfully.

I wouldnt take anything above the skirt.
Just slice thru some corners of the foot and let it seperate or break it off and let it grow.

ohh snap, didn't even know thats the way to do it. Yeah cutting through the mouth is kinda scary, thats why I didn't attempt.

As others have mentioned Ricordea florida, but also Ricordea yuma. Rhodactis inchoata, R. sanctithomae, Discosoma neglecta, and D. carlgreni are all some slower growing species, all of them can be quite pretty. I would stay away from R. indosinensis, R. Rhodostoma, D. striata, D. ferrugata, and D. coerulea (basically red, blue, and striped Discosomas and the ‘hairy’ Rhodactis).
