Hey Friends,
I think I want to add an outboard Chaeto reactor for my Fluval Evo 13.5 nano reef. I don't want to use chamber 2 because I don't think it is enough volume to be effective. Maybe I'm Wrong. My main concern is I don't want to add a bunch of heat to my system. I've already had to back off on my submersible pump because my upgrade was overheating my water. So sad. Anyway if anyone has any great ideas for Chaeto reactors I would love some insight. I'm not afraid of DIY but I may steer away from it in lieu of one that handles heat well. Also the Pax Bellum is just too pricey. Thank you.

I used a $99 AquaMaxx reactor, a Sicce powerhead, and a $15 red/blue grow light strip wrapped around the reactor. It worked great until I stripped my tank of nutrients and killed all my chaeto.

So I guess it is better to go smaller? I hear there may be an ideal ratio of reactor volume to DT volume? Not sure.

Hey, any updates on this? I'm thinking about either using a reactor, or using the bottom section of my InTank basket to grow some chaeto [with a LED taped on the back]

I wouldn't do that in chamber with LED tipped on the back method you may get it working well but it's a heck of a mess it's a lot to take care of and clean. I would go with the Tunze one
