Hi All,

So I have a 112litre (30g US -ish) Tank.

80cm Length x 35cm width x 40cm height. So it's a rectangle not a cube.

I want a light capable of growing anything really and Ideally would prefer to only have one light above the tank. So need something that has the right spread? for that length of tank.

I've watched so many videos, read so much stuff that my heads all over the place now, so thought I'd ask you good guys and girls :)

Budget, I have a 'light' now so I don't need one right now and will save or whatever, so budget isn't too much of a problem.

Thank you.

I'm using a kessil 160 on mine and my wife has a red sea 90 and they are both great lights, hope this is useful.

Thank you, Is the kessil 160we big enough for the entire length of my tank? Or would i need 2 do you think?
How long is your tank? Mine is a 18 inch cube and there's still spread but to b honest I don't know the recommended coverage area but you can contact kessil on their website , they have been very helpful. Hope this helps,iv really enjoyed my light.

I would say one kessil a360 or one hydra should do it.
Although 2 160 or 2 prime might give a more even spread.

edit: It’s about 30” wide

Hi Rusty, As in the OP it is 80cm which is 31.5 inches :)

Thank you BullyBee, I am kind of favouring the Kessil at the moment, seen lots of good thinks written about them and certainly like the idea of the beautiful shimmer they create :)

If you are doing corals, especially sps, there is a great advantage to using t5’s with led. BRS has a lot of videos showing this set up. Whether it’s necessary to not I don’t know. I am a fish guy, not a coral guy.
