Well it's come the time for me to pick out a fish for my tank. The tank is a bare bottom Fluval Edge 6 Gallon with about 8 lbs of rock and my intent was to put a black ice clown in it. I'm not thinking that it will be to much for my tank but I'm looking for opinions on that idea. Also what would be some other fish that would do well in my tank?

I've never had a black ice clown, but I've had a few clowns. They never do too much damage but the can be pretty territorial...when there small not so much but as they get bigger.

6 is not much room...you'd need somthing that will either never intrude on the clowns space or is liked by everyone.
The only fish I can tink of that fits the bill is a chromis.

I'm actually only wanting 1 fish in this tank. I was saying I might get a clown. I'm just not sure how well it would do I'm such a small tank.

ahh my bad - Though you wanted a fish to go with a clown...a clown and a nem would work - would be very cool, but you would probably rehome them in a year or so... some inverts shrimp etc.

That's what I was thinking. With religious water changes. I plan on moving within the next year so when I do I will go to a bigger tank so that would work. Here's the tank so far mp10 and xr15w.

you'll really have to stay on top of it...no room for error in that volume of water...If you can do it and keep it going it would be a showpiece.

So far I don't lose much in 24 hrs. I have a small line marked on the tank and make sure I top off everyday when I get off work.

I wouldn't put the sps in until I had it fully stocked it and had the maintenence routine consistantly producing stable parameters...you have an sps in mind?

Hey, how about these fish?

That's my plan mainly acro, milli and maybe a few zoas. I'm looking for a good bare bottom cleanup crew right now.

Theres a clown, damsel and blue hippo tang.

Clowns and damsels are related and both will host nems (sometimes) damsels are tough but there are some which are quite nice looking. Not a bad choice.

You can get some very small blue hippos...prone to ich and will grow quicly...tangs need room...I wouldn't do it to him.

My favorite all around snail is the black footed trocus...I go barebottom on a 400. All I have is trocus and a cleaner shrimp. Have you considered a clam of some sort...helps with nitrate/ammonia. I've seen some small crocea and maxima which could look very cool.

zoos would also work...but they can be weird...palys more reliable but not as colorful - but there are some varietys of green which really glow under acintic and look very reefish.

I've never really thought about a clam. All I really know is they use calcium very fast and grow very quickly as well.

I had alot of zoas when I had my 90 gallon a few years back. I think I had roughly 15 different types. Loved my utterchaos, wish I would have never got rid of everything.
