Recommend me a good HoB skimmer

My current one died, I don’t remember the model offhand but it didn’t last more than a few months. It was a cheap one so I got what I paid for.

I have a 30g tank with a aquaclear 110 so it doesn’t need to be big and it’s probably not necessary. I bought it more for keeping the tank oxygenated better.

I would prefer to keep it lower cost as I am looking to upgrade to a 90-120g in a year or so with a sump and would need a in sump skimmer for that. I will pay for a quality unit that will last that year timeframe.

I have a reef octopus 100 that I actually hang off my sump to keep as much free room as possible. It's a great skimmer and would also work on your tank when you upgrade.

I actually just got an RDC 150 hang on back skimmer recently for a 15g but it says up to 40 gallons.

Its my first ever skimmer (first salt tank) and i cant compare, but literally first day it pulled yellow stuff. Cheap on amazon too (canada).
