I have a 40 breeder tank that I have been contemplating buying a skimmer for. It would need to be a HOB, be quiet, and be reliable. Thanks.:nerd:

yea tunze are pretty quiet...........i have a remora pro with a mag5 pump......its not noisy but you can hear it.........honestly i am use to the sound so i have no problem sleeping with the skimmer running in my room.

I have a Tunze 9002 going up for sale as soon as I finish my upgrade, let me know if you'd be interested.

you want quiet. So the atb, deltec and tunze are the quietest of the bunch. But from $150 to $600 more than just a couple nucks more.

i have the wm h2 on my frag tank and its pretty quite. Took a few days to break in though. I like it and is quite. IMO best hob

At this point I am leaning towards the Warner Marine H2X, does anyone else have reviews or experience with them? Thanks.

just got the octopus bh 1000 and love it. it is on my solana so there is a little noise from the return of the skimmer. the external pump and bubble plate are what sold me

i will have to look that one up foxyb.

i have heard great things from the Deltec mce300

I have the Deltec MCE-300 and it's super quiet and seems to skim well. I use it mostly on my QT at this point ....

Look for them used, you can usually pick one up for about $200 or $250.

I ended up buying a Warner Marine H2, once it has been up and running for a month or so I will be sure to post a review. Thanks everyone for their help.:nerd:
