Recommendation: Lights for FOWLR Tank

Hi All,

newbie here trying to set up a 4ftx2ftx2ft FOWLR tank. I read that lighting requirements for FOWLR tank is not as demanding as reef tank, just need white and blue.

i try to google, but seems like most light are for reef. is there any fowlr specific light brand/model? also for 4ftx2ftx2ft tank, how many lights do I need?

For FOWLR you could probably get away with using standard e26 colored bulbs.
I'm sure any chineseium black box lights will do just fine.

I run two Mars Aqua 165w lights on my 55 FowLR and they work awesome. Independently controlled white and blue channels with manual dimmers on both. Cheap, plenty powerful enough to grow algae for the herbivores.

I use the Mars on my tank also. Run them at 60%.

Tons of choices. The current IC pro lights are what I started with in my fowler

You can use as little as a Home Depot Shop light. The fish will not care one bit.
