I actually bought the 302 Aquatics initially but it was WAY too big so decided to go with the Rain 2. I'm really happy with it. Not sure what you meant by the last question on your latest reply. My Nutrients stay pretty stable at 3-5 Nitrate and .03-.06 phosphate with the ATS and Protien skimmer. 22 fish, feed heavy, 3x day on a Reefer 525XL.oh wow nice harvest!!! i just got mine with only 2 lights for my 50 cube i hope its not over kill, i was debating between this and the 302 aquatics i hope i made the right choice. How come your nutients are now down all the way, do you intentionally keep it that way?
what i meant was is this the lowest you got you can get your Nitrate and phosphate? Or do you have light schedule to keep it at these numbers???I actually bought the 302 Aquatics initially but it was WAY too big so decided to go with the Rain 2. I'm really happy with it. Gotcha, It's kind of a balancing act. I have got it much lower and I simply reduced the photo period. I recently had to remove the ATS during a bryopsis treatment with flucanozole. During the treatment my Nitrates went up to 15-20 and Phos .10-.15. After the treatment I ran the lights longer and once ATS kicked back in I reduced the photo period. I just test often when trying to dial it in. I like to try and keep my Nitrate around 5ppm and Phos at .03-.06. Seems like my coral are happiest at those numbers.what i meant was is this the lowest you got you can get your Nitrate and phosphate? Or do you have light schedule to keep it at these numbers???
cool oh this doesnt outcompete bryopsis??? was it hard to start growing again after flucanozole treatment? also what do you have by the drain from keeping the light from leaking out? do you ever experience algae escaping the drain and into the system?Gotcha, It's kind of a balancing act. Did not outcompete byropsis. Think it came in on a frag plug even after being extra careful. Took about 3 weeks to get going after I did my water change and added some carbon. My drain is wide open. Very little algae escapes and when it does it gets stuck on my return pump screen. I grab it and feed to my tangs. As far as the light escaping I never get any nuisance algae in the sump or equipment.cool oh this doesnt outcompete bryopsis??? was it hard to start growing again after flucanozole treatment? also what do you have by the drain from keeping the light from leaking out? do you ever experience algae escaping the drain and into the system?
