I won't be raising the fry but I want an option to try and hold daddy and capture the fry so that when they arrive I can pass them off to someone else to raise.

What's the best option?

>I absolutely cannot set up an additional tank<

Best option is separate tank

I use a plastic box with very small holes I drilled in the bottom and magnets to hold it against the glass and the top above waterline. I've moved him too early a couple times and he's spit out the partially developed eggs. Now I wait until closer to the 30 days instead of 20.

Problem is I'm not 100% sure when he stopped eating/gestating. So tracking the 30 days is gonna be hard.

I'm hoping not to stress um too much but I'm gonna have to drain like 85% of my water volume to catch him.

And if transferring to a tank, dont net it- Trap in water with a large cup and transfer fish and water to the tank

Yes I have one I bought like that and it works fine and a larger one for when they get bigger that I drilled the holes for. I put some fake plants in it too so he and the fry don't feel so out in the open at first. Just make sure you or who's taking them has brine shrimp ready before the fry come out.
