Installing new CO2 scrubber. Any recommendations on getting started? Should I reduce alk dosing?

Ph in morning 8.05, Ph at night 8.21. Dose 15ml of Alk, mostly at night.

Thanks!

If that is your PH then I would not even bother with a CO2 scrubber.

Just my two cents. :)

A lot of people dose alkalinity first thing in the morning right before lights kick on especially if you have that high of pH at night.

Sorry if I confused with my wording.

Ph 8.21 reading is about 7 pm. Drops from there all night, even though I’m slowing dosing Alk all night, to 8.05 in the morning. Cycle repeats everyday. Wondering if I could achieve better Ph stability with CO2 scrubber?

You would still get the swings unless you automate your air intake to fresh air during the peaks. I agree that at those pH levels it's really not worth the cost or hassle with media.

I personally would be focused more on the stability of the following parameters before PH:

Note: Just my prioritization (others may vary based on their systems)

- Alk
- Temp
- Salinity
- Other parameters as needed
