When I was dosing to increase Mg, I was increasing 50-100 per day. If I was dosing 100, I would dose an increase of 50 in the morning and the last 50 at night and did not experience any issues. I think I read somewhere to not go over 100 per day.

I should test for mg if it has not raised much I will dose a little bit more. Im slightly invreasing the dose I dont want to stress out the fish, shrimp and clean up crew

Just give it time. Mine was like that for a month or month and half and suddenly it opened up.

I hope so, ohh my i already miss my tank. Im out for the night and will be home tomorrow and I already miss them.

Mine divide weekly I have three colonies and one that has struggled for about 4 months in a 6 month old tank I've been out of the hobby for a handful of years. So when I ordered salt amd a few other thing I ordered a Kent Marine starter pack calcium strontium/molybdenum and iodine. I dosed until they were empty Iodine as direted daily. So i've added a dosing pump use recipie 2 of Randys 2 part and for about 3 monthe things haven't been as happy as they were when I was dosing iodine here it is 10 days later one has 4 more heads the "runt" that has never done well had 3 head it now has 4 an in a fee days it will be 5 only thing I've changed is adding iodine.

Reason I quit reading threads on R2R an others.
I learned how to keep reefs Berlin style bare bottom powerheads and a skimmer dose trace elements. I tried doing the nre style but ot just wasn't making them happy went back to the old school way an not only I but all of my LPS/softie tank is thriving. another couple of months an I'll be selling xenia and GSP frags back to Fish Doctors! Not long after that LPS frags.

Lol my little green chromis os always photobombing the corals

PS I target feed three times a week or so at night when the feeder tentacles are extended.

Great! Another great start, looking good! I fed Baby Birmeshrimp that I gut feed with that poly lab stuf, and sometimes Hikari seaweed extreme. Also iodine, amiomo acids. I turn off all pumps for an hour and broadcast feed. It’s our special time ;)

I get 8 cups of epson salt and give my poor feet a soak, then the rest gets dumped in the tank. You can get the recipe from Randy. I don’t think he soaks his feet in it though.

I have just noticed one thing which is the extension of the branchs the branch with a head has extended and this has happened to a couple of them.

The bit with white has been extended. I hope it is a good sign

Looking good to me. Just keep track of the drivers of calcification, and feed a Healthy varied diet.

Hello,

23rd of march a couple heads have started to puff. Hopefully it will like this place and take off the growth.

About a month ago I thought i was about to loose my largest colony my pinks they have really made a comeback too make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside lol

Looks good. Nice recovery.

I have a very tough type of candy cane (I prefer trumpet) coral. At least, I can't kill it. Its a green and blue trumpet. Shaped a little different than yours, but still called the same thing. This is a really bad picture, but the centers are green with blue edges.

I had it in a 75g FOWLR that I was going to convert to a reef... that project didn't work out too well and it went into a nano reef that I was much better at keeping nutrients under control, and Ca and Alk, and had much better lighting.

Fast forward a few weeks... months maybe, and I completely forgot I had it and was knocked off in the sand half buried.

I though for sure it was a goner, but it still had polyps. Very very receded and tiny polyps, but they were there. I had set up a new 35g cube and was moving things over when I found it. So, it went into the 35 where I could nurse it back to health.

Its on the lowest rock in my tank, around 100 PAR peak and below the strong currents. Just gentle turbulence. It has come around very well and has doubled in size from where it was.

These are some tough corals, mine was forgotten about laying in the sand for weeks and it still hung in there. I'll have it back to its former glory shortly.

I like the colors they look nice in photos. There is a little algae but it can be solved by a any tang if you have any in the tank.

Oh yea, thats been taken care of. I had to reorder cuc recently and they have been cleaning everything up nicely.

No tangs, its a 35g cube. 20" in every direction. I'm a wrasse man anyway. ;)

Cool, i hope my candy cane heads all will puff if not it will recover from the living heads because I have a feeling a couple heads are not going to make it.
