65 gallon mixed reef, softies and LPS like frog spawn, torch. Hard scape dominates the middle of the water column. There’s a channel to swim behind the rock scape. Lots of crevices, knocks and caves to hide in. The ocellaris tend to host on top of pulsating Xenia.

Stock list:
Paired black and white ocellaris
Yellow tang
Purple dottyback
Small to medium blood shrimp
Hermit crabs
Assorted snails
Emerald crabs x 2
Fighting conch

I like the colors of a flame hawk fish or a flame angel. However, I do like to keep shrimp. I think that the blood shrimp would have his days numbered if I added a flame hawk.

For good and bad, I did manage to build myself an aggressive fish stock list.

Thoughts on other fish out there?

Also, what would be the maximum amount of fish you would have in this set up?

One more? Two more?

Thanks in advance!

You should check out banggai cardinals or mccosker’s flasher wrasse (the colors are amazing). Not sure how many fish you can add but I definitely know you can still add some more to a 65g.

[/QUOTE but with fish I would try getting a tang of some sort

If you plan on coral then you should shy away from angle fish they can change their mind and kill coral

Angel’s do tend to nip at fleshy lps corals such as acans. That’s a mighty small tank for a yellow tang.... sure that you want a dottyback? A royal gramma might be better...

What is the minimum size tank for a tang to live long and happily

Favorite fish I’ve ever owned is a leopard wrasse. Somewhat difficult to care for as they somewhat rely on different pods for food, but I had mine eating anything like pellet or frozen or live- but she also searched the rockwork all day long for pods.

That’s their behavior, they swim in and out of the entire rockwork looking for pods. Beautiful fish and interesting personality. Just have to find one you know is eating

Also, I had a yellow assessor that I really liked because they swim upside down.

I’ve attached pictures of them both that I had.

I’ve been eyeing one of those leopard wrasses as a next addition....

flame angel FTW

seems pretty safe unless you really want to have meaty LPS like acans. mine gives the purple stylo a go from time to time, but it's no big deal. he has never bothered my torch or frogspawn

I’ve heard they get spooked by the tentacles euphyllias have. I don’t know how true that is though ;Hilarious

i've seen some people say the sting of euphyllia can keep some away too, shrug. it does seem like euphyllia is lower on the list of LPS corals likely to be eaten by w/ caution fish
