Looking for recommendations for an easy to find silicone that would work for sealing glass to plastic. The seal in question is for the false wall of a biocube so its not a structural seal. Looks like the factory silicone used is chewed up on it but the actual tank seals are in great shape (I'm guessing its because of the glass-plastic +silicone) - any silicone I can use to avoid this problem?

Also I'm not sure on what type of plastic it is unfortunately.

I only trust Aqueon tank sealant and it bonds super well

OK thanks! I'll probably go for the Aqueon and it comes in black as well which is nice since the original seals that I don't want to touch are in black.

Somewhat specific question, but if anyone here knows that would help a lot - the seals on the outside of the biocube - are those structural at all? The seal I'm talking about is on the bottom rim between the glass and rim. There is already a seal on the inside of the tank between the glass panels so I'm not sure what this one is for?

i have used the GE for plasic silicone on acrylic baffles before, it bonds to acrylic very well.

Silicone, and glass, are inorganic and bond well. Plastic and acrylic are organic, and prefer an organic cement like acetone etc. When mixing organic and inorganic, the silicones mentioned above will work as long as structural strength is not need (like display walls).

Of course this could be wrong :)

I've seen this recommended for plastic, but haven't used it.

It’s been a few years since this was suggested, it is still available at HD. Has anyone ever used this product in their reef tanks?

It says it is non toxic when cured however it does say for above water line use in marine environments.

I’m wanting to bond in the weir partition in my lowboy with it. Everyone’s thoughts?
