Dialing in my system and decided to upgrade from my Hand-me-down Clear for Life Refugium Sump to the new Trigger Systems Triton34 Sump. I already have a separate refugium tank plumbed into the system so I will be using the "refugium section" for equipment and the skimmer section for rubble /extra bio media space. I will be converting from an external Reeflo Dart to dual submersible pumps for DT return + 1 separate submersible pump for the refugium return. The DT is pretty close to 100gal and the Fuge is ~30gal I'm planing to go a min of 10x return for each. I can't decide whether I want to go AC or DC. Price on either is reasonable and since all of my equipment is in the garage I don't need silent running. I know that the AC Sicce Syncra is a solid pump so I am torn between them and the Reef Octopus Varios controllable DC pumps. However, I don't know about the reliability of DC pumps because it seems like it's still fairly new technology but I do like the controllability. In the grand scheme of things I'll spend the money on either as long as they are fairly low maintenance and reliable.

Here's what I need to know,

Who's using what?
For how long?

TBH I use a cheap Jeabo DC Pump. Been going strong for well over a year, silent, cheap.
