I'm in the market for a new tank. Well, I'm saving up for one and as with anything in this hobby I'm doing a bunch of research. What started this whole adventure is my fiancée and I were at a frag swap yesterday and we saw a Elos Diamond 70 on display. We both fell in love with the tank and the size is a great compromise for us(if I had it my way the whole living room would be one large fish tank...) I did some looking and the Elos only comes with a white stand in America, and it's quite pricey. CAD Lights makes a 60g for a great price, but after reading HORRIBLE reviews on their tanks and customer service, I'll just leave them alone. I've seen some bad reviews from the Marineland cubes also. Maybe get a custom stand made for the Elos tank? This will be a piece of living room furniture, I can DIY with the best rednecks out there, but that's where it ends... There's a pretty good cabinet shop less than a mile from me.

I guess I should list what I'm looking for.
  • 60g ish cube, maybe can convince her into something a wee bit larger, but still a cube.
  • Internal corner overflow, the tank will need to go as far up against the wall as possible.
  • Black stand, "You can get it in any color you want as long as it's black.
  • Black silicone, after having it on my Innovative Marine nano... I can't go back.
  • Starfire glass, diamond polished... low iron at the very least.
  • Sump would be a plus, but I can buy one from trigger or someone.
So, anyone got any recommendations? I'm leaning Elos, I guess I need someone to either push or pull me back off the ledge.

I would take a look at SCA aquariums. They are us and have great quality. I have a 90 cube from them and it has been running solid for almost a year. They come in different stand types. Mine is white. Search GFordQC and you'll fine my build.

After looking last night I think I'm going to go with @gfordQC with the SCA 90g cube. It looks like the SCA website is down today tho as I cannot access it from desktop nor cell phone. No rush tho, still gathering funds and equipment list for the build.
