Hello,

I am looking into this new and exciting hobby. I was making a list of all i need and I really want to go through the LED route. I know this is not a part to skimp out on but i can't justify 700 per light fixture. What is a brand that you recommend that would be able to grow LPS/SPS corals while maintaining a lower cost.

Thanks!

Few things to take into consideration. You want built in timers? Ability to dim different channels? Full spectrum or just blue and whites?

I've been seeing a lot of people switch back to T5s as well. I personally prefer T5s and LEDs as supplement dimmed down.

I would like timers and dimmable options. I am sure you can buy a controller separately that does that. I would assume full spectrum because this will be my main light source. I really do not want to go down the T5 path. IS Reef Radiance LEDs probably the cheapest lights without sacrificing quality?

Yea, I've got one unit on my tank running right now. Work perfect for me, but all I have is Softy Corals. I'm running the Blues at 80% and the whites at 50%.

1 unit? in a 100g tank? No, not enough coverage, thats why I linked 3 units. But yes, those units will grow everything, they are very intense like the others out there. I've got a Hydra on the other side of my tank, and they are both intense.

I have one of these over my 40 breeder. I ramp up to 100% mid day the down around 6 hours in off an hour and back up the off around 12 hours from start to finish. Lps, sps, all good growth and great color.

For the price you can't be too upset if you end up switching down the line., but mine has been great for over a year now.
Just iPad shot but still

I wonder why some reefers don't support our Sponsors? By recommending their units! Check out the Reef Radiance units!! Wonderful customer service! Great units at an even greater price. I speak from experience :)

Nana, which do you like more? Reefbreeder or reef radiance? What is best model for my buck?I'm assuming I would need two for roughly 120g when I get

I'm sorry but I can not compare as I'm not familiar with the Reef Breeders units. I run the Reef Radiance LumenTek Pro 180 and for a first time LED user, I love it!

I put two kessil a360's on my 75g and I'm seeing growth on the sps at the top of the tank and the acans / blasto's near the bottom always look nice and full. I had the vega's on my last tank and I couldn't keep sps...just could never seem to get them dialed in correctly. With the kessil's you set the intensity and color and that's it.

check out this article. it's what helped me decide on the kessi's.

I'd highly recommend Ocean Revive LEDs. I have (2) of the Arctic S026's over my 4' long 90 and it grow everything, even while running them around 60% blue/50% white. The S026s have (2) power cords and (2) manual dimmers, you need your own timers. My friend has their Arctic T247s over his 180 and loves them too. They have built in timers, 1 power cord and digital dimmers. The S026s are $175 and the T247s are $199 on their website.

They're also a sponsor and have very good reviews from others (why I decided to try them). I did a lot of reading before selecting them and have had mine fro 6 months now. Very happy with my purchase of these lights, so I like to pass the word on. Here are some photos of mine:

Kind of hard to get a true representative photo of them. Everybody that sees them, says they look great. We can read the several other reviews in their forum section Ocean Revive LED. Good luck with your selection.

As far as performance, controllability, ease of use and cost effective, I've found nothing out there yet that competes with Reef Radiance. Customer service is outstanding!
