Looking to purchase skimmer in near future...110 FOWLR with wet/dry system...just getting all the parts together b4 it gets wet...also recommended heater..1 or 2 needed?

I was hoping someone else would have chimed in first but I guess I'll give you my .02...
For a skimmer I like Skimz or Reef Octo, BRS carries both type. When it come to a skimmer I always advise people to upsize because I feel they are a very important part of a setup..
I don't use heaters because between my pumps and lights my water stays warm enough..

I won't recommend a brand but this is excellent advice! If your skimmer is too effective you can reduce the number of hours per day you run it. If your skimmer is too small, you need to replace it. Ouch.

I would go with 2 smaller heaters over one larger one. Heaters fail. If a heater does fail on a smaller heater will take longer to raise the temperature of your tank to a dangerous level. If it fails off, the 2nd heater will at least keep some heat in the tank if needed.

I am planning on using a Reef Octopus 150 EXT for my 100 gal reef tank build in the near future.
