Hello all,

Over the Thanksgiving Holiday I was able to procure a new 60g cube setup for my house. Currently I am running a BioCube 29. My livestock includes a pair of Allard's Clowns, a blue damsel and a 6-line wrasse. I am planning a mixed reef setup with a good mix of LPS, SPS and zoanthids.

The Cube is rimless and I plan on running an open top. I'm looking for ideas for a couple more fish. I would like to get one with good personality and another with some unique coloration to really round out my tank.

I am completely stumped and am looking for guidance.

Thanks all!

I can't recommend any fish for an open top tank, as almost any fish can jump. Now there are some that are known jumpers, and others that there are only a few cases of a particular fish jumping. Your Six Line Wrasse is one that is a known jumper (as are all Wrasses). Please do not move it into that tank unless you cover the top :/

Look into making your own cover out of mesh. When done right they don't look half bad, don't affect light in any way, and most importantly keep all of your fish in the tank :)

If your cube is 24x24x24, Marineland sells nice covers for their cube tanks and they are very easy to take off, so if people come over you can take the lid off. But I would recommend gobies if you have a lid. Having no lid limits a lot of ideas.

I will probably end up building a canopy for the tank. My wife doesn't want the lights exposed. I will also be running a bare bottom tank, so I won't have any sand for the sifters.

My plan is to have a zoanthid and ricordea garden at the bottom of my tank. From there I will do LPS in the low to mid areas of my rock work, and then SPS mid to high in my tank.
