I got a decent sized rock with about 10-20 recordia on it with the intentions of putting the whole rock in my tank. As luck eoukd have it... the rock wont fit lol. Anyone know a good way to get them detached? Same way as an anemone? It has about 4 tgat are 4 inches and s few that are 2 and a lot of small ones.

I am not sure what you mean by "the same way you move anemones". Could you explain?

The base seems like the base of an anenome... I can detach it from a rock by getting my finger between it and the rock... Not so much with these things

When it was been described to me, it sounded very much like the "rock" was"chiseled" (is that spelled correctly). That way you get the recordia and a little bit of rock and you do not destroy a lot of the reef. The club has a saw. You may have to attack the rock with a hammer and a chisel or big screwdriver before using the saw. LOL

Those sound like really big recordia

Correction. The saw is not a club saw. I believe that it is available to club members, however.

Of course, i could be dreaming and not really typing this using my phone at 2am. Cannot sleep for some reason.

They are decent sized. I'll try breaking the rock :/ lol I have a table saw but that just seems dangerous lol

Dustin....Stay away from the table saw with the rock......Way to dangerous! Take a old wood chisel or metal chisel back the bottom side of the rock with a old towel put it on the concrete floor, sidewalk, something solid...score it first, like you would a concrete block, come right back across your scoreing with harder blows and it will cut by hand like that.Once you get it in smaller pieces its easyier to handle and work it down to what you want, nothing but a thing brother!

Sorry guys just tryen to walk ya trough it,I won't slipup and let it happen again, concerned about you safety when you mentioned a table saw, SAFETY,huh where have I heard that before Eddie.

Lol ill take all the advice from whomever wants to give it... my wife says especially the safty tips... She's seen me eith my table saw! Lol

I've seen some nasty accidents with wood on a table saw,so you see why the rock on a table saw red flaged for me,good luck.

I have beening thinging about this all night. I think if you get one of those really thin table saw blades, you know like a plywood blade, it might work. You will need to get the blade spinning real fast. Maybe plug the saw into a 220V outlet. Get a gardan hose. Turn the water on, but not too fast. Put the end of the hose on the saw. Tape it down so the water is flowing toward the blade. Make sure the water does not get to the motor. Wear safety glasses, safety goggles, and a face shield. You should probably get one of those welder's aprons also. That should do it. Just don't tell buddy about your plans. LOL

Wet the ground down real good first eeeeeehah!!!!Out of chute number 3 Yellow River letar buck!! Ha Ha... ... lol ! Remember Eddie I owe ya :caked:

Missed you at the meeting Buddy
