I am coming off a large overdose of vodka last week. I have gone thru the low o2, cloudy, and slime stages and my corals are now pale with low polyp extension compared to normal. My water is clear again and my pH is back to normal. My alk consumption has lowered but I cant tell because the water changes I have done have higher alk then I normally run. My CaRx is still off as I wait for a drop to signal resumed uptake of alk. My nitrates and phosphates are 0,0 right now. I have a solution of KNo3 and 50ml of that will raise my Nitrates to 5ppm. I did this mid last week and now nitrates are back to 0. Normally I am at 5 nitrates and .03 phosphates.

I can keep dosing KNo3 to keep nitrates at detectable levels but I am concerned about phosphates. I have been feeding heavy since this started of pellets, frozen, phyto, reef chili, and acropower to keep food to my corals. Should I order a bottle of Seachem Florish Phosphorus to get back to my .03 level or should I just stay the course with food? I am concerned if I don't get phosphates back to a good level soon my sps could suffer.

Thoughts?

The dosing sounds reasonable, but so does feeding more. I'd keep dosing the nitrate, and dosing some phosphate seems reasonable to me. There may still be a lot of bacteria that have a pent up demand for nutrients.
