Recycling Sand

I have pulled out a lot of sand from siphoning cyano bacteria out during water changes. I have saved all the sand taken out in a 5 gallon bucket.

1. Can i wash and put back in the Main Display?

2. What is the best way to go about washing it?

just rinse it all in tap, then in ro di water, and put back in.

Don't cap dirty sand w clean sand though, recipe for algae issues in 2018. you may need to make all the sand equally clean to be ideal. search official sand rinse thread for many doing that action.
