ohhk - so im at my lfs and we got into the topic of dosing to raise phosphates,, because i feed a bunch and dont have a lot of coral or algae and my phos is always low .01sh almost not present and think my lps would love some .03 am trying not to chase numbers or raise them too much and they suggested squirting my skimmer water around lps and they would enjoy that…has anyone ever experimented?

Lower the water level in your skimmer so it skims very little and super dry. This should cause your nutrient levels to increase.

More food would be easier and safer than dumping back into the tank. I run my skimmer for only 2 hours a day right now to raise nutrients. I also reduced my refugium light.

I dump my skimmate on my lime tree, as it needs Nitrates, Phosphates. makes great fertilizer

thanks for all the feedback everyone, i feel like i need my skimmer to help keep my ph up, which is an issue for me so i guess il dry skim and feed more..

If you want to keep your PH up, monitor the CO2 in the air. there are inexpensive sensors out there on amazon.

Best thing is to run an airline from outside to your skimmer air input... That will help with PH.
