Red Algae Choking out Zoas

No, hermits won't work. I battled both kinds for over 2 years & the ONLY thing that worked were the Mex turbos. I haven't had a spec of red algae since I added them & the entire tank was totally choked out by the stuff (even my montis) before I added them. Actually this was in more than 1 tank & they're all clear--thank God!

I had something similar in my frag tank and added a scopas tang. with in minutes he was picking at it. Cleaned it out very quickly. I had some rocks in my sump with the same stuff on it and put it in the frag for a quick cleaning. I have not see it since. So maybe any Zebrasoma tang will work.

Red Sea sailfin tang didn't touch it in my tank. The mexican turbos keep it mowed down real close to the rock, more like a haircut than removal, but i still haven't found anything to kill it off completely. Since i'm upgrading tanks over this summer i plan to cook all my rock and frag/throw away anything that has this stuff on it.

After battling a loosing war with this stuff, I haven't seen a speck of the horrible red curse in many months now, since adding the hard-working Mexicans.
