Hello... I have some red algae on the sand.... it looks like a carpet... when I touch it, its one piece, connected. Should I leaveit there???? There are 2 or 3 small areas.. Thanks

It's cyano. It is one of the nuisance types. It is a sign of excess nutrients in the tank. It is best to syphon it out with a turkey baster, check your parameters, and see if either your PO4 or NO3 levels are elevated a bit. It can also start to form when bulbs are older and start decreasing in efficiency. Just a couple of things to check.
