I've been running my tank with an old ATI Sunpower 4x54W T5 bulbs. Actually 3 coz 1 doesn't work. I plan on making my own LED lamp similar to Reef Flare L but without all the added crap.
Anyways I got sofites and a few montipora and a single seriatopora (hard ones were added as freebies to purchases). My T5 fixture: Giesemann Blue (old probably used up), new ATI Coral Plus and (by mistake) Sylvannia Extreme Red 13k. I bough the Red one by mistake and decided to give it a try. Been struggling with cyano past month (new tank). Lasy 4 days were no lights days and cyano vanished. My corals were suprisingly pumped like they weren't for a while. Questions is: which bulb gets a kick? IT seems I use top much light. Should I just buy a new blue and use the Coral Plus? Or leave the red and blue ones? Or what?
Do corals need red light? It's a nie 13k bulb but red instead of white :(
