Red ball sponge clear skin

I have a red ball sponge that has been forming a clear like skin. Is this new tissue or deteriorating tissue?

Would food supplements for coral be sufficient enough? Phyto, reef roids, etc. I've dealt with coral over 8years. First sponge ever. I moved it out the light (thought it could be burning).

Light carbon dosing is a good sponge food.

Flow is def a trick to find the right spot like coral.

Honestly I’ve not had enough sponges to be able to spot possible bleaching from light.
I would assume if it’s photosynthetic it gonna need acclamation.

I'll have to move it up, lower flow at the bottom. Any recommendations on supplemental food?

Fish poo and bacteria honestly. Coral foods. I wouldn’t go overboard really.
If you have sponges in your system it should be fine.
